Désirée Dell’Amore is a fascinating harp player mastering both a classical and modern repertoire. Her personal style is influenced by various cultures. She combines elegance, mastery and subtlety
with an exciting stage presence.
Désirée was born in Cesena (Italy) in 1979. At the age of 5 she discovers classical dance and passionately dedicates herself to this art form for the next 12 years. At the age of 10 she starts
musical education at the Conservatorio ‘B. Maderna’ in Cesena taking lessons with the harpist Lisetta Rossi. In 1999 she graduates with merits.
Shortly after her graduation she moves to Milano and starts a professional career as a harpist. She performs at festivals and various theatres and works with classical orchestras and opera houses
as a first harpist. She attends master classes with Catherine Michel (first harpist of the Paris opera house). After serious classical studies, Désirée Dell'Amore broadens her stylistic range by
studying celtic harp (with Dominic Bouchaud, Anne Marie O'Farrell, Cormac De Barra und Wendy Stewart) and Jazz (with Park Stickney). Soon she is becoming a popular session musician in Milano and
starts working for pop artists like Mario Biondi, Milva, Cesare Cremonini, Cecilia Chailly, Dolcenera and Lucio Fabbri. Désirée Dell'Amore has been performing in all parts of Italy and been on
tour in France, Spain, Switzerland, Poland and Germany. In 2001 and 2002 she has been invited to a concert tour in Japan (Osaka, Kobe, Kyoto). Besides working as a professional musician,
Désirée Dell'Amore has been studying musicology at the “Università Statale di Milano” graduating in 2007 with merits.
